Now, let me start this by saying, in NO WAY is this traditional or authentic. I honestly have no clue what I’m doing but I can confirm it is delicious!!!! My husband is the boxed ramen connoisseur and he LOVED it! I was a little worried since I haven’t had too many bowls of ramen in my life but I will say this seemed pretty top notch and at the very least it was so flavorful and literally so comforting.
Word to the wise, make extra noodles! If you know, you know. soups just don’t work with kids, so I just fed them noodles without the broth and pieces of pork and they literally devoured it! I thought two packets of noodles would be enough but I was wrong I would do one packet a person next time! Trust me, it’s that good!
Ok, for the recipe I did some crispy pork chops. I get really thinly sliced bone in pork chops and dip the in seasoned flour and crisp them up in a pan to cook them through. These are so thin it only takes about 5 minutes to cook! They should reach 145 internally to be cooked through!
Meanwhile, I made a simple broth with red peppers, green onions, ginger, garlic and other spices added chicken broth and let it boil. Simmer for about 20-25 minutes, drop your noodles and you’re ready to eat! Top with lots of green onions, sriracha, sesame seeds and your crispy pork! I’m not kidding when I say it transported me to an authentic hole in the wall restaurant in the middle of New York! So fab you have got to try this one!
