IT’S GAME DAY!! and whether you’re cheering for the Cowboys or not, at least I know we will all agree on one thing, this crockpot chili is easy, delicious and the perfect start to fall! I will be making this all fall and winter long and I know you will be too! We’re throwing everything in the crock pot and making chili!
The best thing about chili, other than it being the most comforting recipe, is that it is so versatile! I’m sharing 3 ways to use this but honestly it goes great on anything! Plus, if you’re in a rush you can cook it on the stovetop!
First, and probably my favorite way to eat chili, is a delicious Frito pie! If I were serving this for game day I would do a chili bar with all the toppings so everyone can make their own pies. Fritos, cheese, onions, sour cream, jalapeno, parsley/cilantro and of course the large crockpot of chili. Let everyone make their own and enjoy! Individual bags of Fritos also look so cute and makes clean up so easy.
The next way to use this chili would be to make a hotdog bar! Cook up all your hotdogs and set out all the toppings of your choice. Sour cream, mustard, ketchup, cheese, onions. Let everyone make their own hotdogs. You guys this was so good! Basically like sonic but much better!
Lastly, and certainly not least, would be the simple chili cheese nachos! I have leftover chili and I will be making these because this sounds so good! Simply add a layer of tortilla chips to a large sheet pan, top with lots of cheese and chili. Place it in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted. Add your favorite toppings. Guac, sour cream, salsa, jalapenos. Seriously sounds so fab!
Beans in chili? I think not but hey, you do you! It is your chili after all! I will say, in this crockpot version I kinda think it would add a great texture so maybe I say yes in this. But don’t tell :) With that said, pinto or kidney would be great here!
