What happens when you put homemade meatballs, toasty bread, melted provolone, & warm marinara together? you guessed it! EPIC MEATBALL SUBS! This guys, could possibly take the first place award for my favorite recipe on MME, and considering they’re all like my babies, that is saying something!
Why do I love them so much you ask? They’re easy to make ahead, you can double the recipe and freeze the leftovers, makes great lunches for all ages, keeps you full and of course they’re so incredibly easy to make!
If you’ve tried my meatball recipes before you know my hack that makes these 10 times easier! No searing in the pan and splattering grease all over the kitchen. Pop them in a muffin tin and bake them! They still get crispy on the edges and perfectly cooked in the center. Trust me, your family will be begging for these!
I will share ingredient swaps at the end but you can truly make these however you like! Sub beef for turkey or chicken. Add extra veggies, see my veggie packed meatballs here, or even buy frozen meatballs if you’re really in a pinch. But trust me the 10 minutes of prep time on these beats a frozen meatball any day of the week!
I served these as is but adding a simple side salad would be a great side dish for these! Hope you all enjoy. Now I’m craving meatballs :)
